Hi Ms. Nora.I just want to ask if I can pay my Pagibig monthly contributions in advance like for this year and next year i.e June 2015- June 2017. Can I issue a managers cheque payable to Pagibig to fund my MP2 savings? Are they accepting cheques as payments? Thanks to your very helpful and informative site. More Power To You…

Hi aida, are your parents the claimants? your brother’s birth certificate is needed to prove that your brother is their child.

Hi Ed, yes, you can use a manager’s cheque, and yes, you can pay in advance. I’m not sure how Pag-ibig posts advance payments for 2016 and 2017, and if these advance payments are included when they compute your dividends for 2015. So I think it’s better if you make your lumpsum payment as your savings for June to Dec 2015, so this lumpsum will surely earn dividends this 2015. I’ve read or heard from the Pag-ibig CEO that there’s no monthly maximum amount. Thank you very much for appreciating my blog. Means a lot. More power too to your endeavors.

Hi edna, the 2,000 increase is still a proposal and is not yet approved by Congress. The SSS has also opposed the proposal. If there’s an across-the-board pension increase, the increase will be given to all pensioners, whether they were employed or voluntary members before they retired.

Hi Reyne, you asked about the option of opening another account, so I assume that your initial deposit was not that big that it was most likely wiped out already by the dormancy penalties, and that your account has already been closed. If this is true, then you can open a new account.

Hi Michelle, do you mean you did not claim your mother’s MRI? Did you file paperwork to claim your mother’s Pag-ibig housing loan insurance or MRI to pay off in full your mother’s housing loan? Do you already have the title to your house? Because if your mother’s housing loan has already been paid off by MRI, then your mother has no more outstanding housing loan on her records, and you can file to claim her Provident benefits.

Hi jennifer, yes, it’s really sad that most banks charge for inward remittance fee, even BDO and other banks, specially if the money transfer is bank to bank. The charge is also higher than what they publish on their fees list. How much did BPI charge you? On the BPI list of fees, inward remittance fee for wire transfer is $6.50 for dollar accounts and 150 plus 10 plus .30 for every 200 and fraction for doc stamp.
I’ve observed that when I pick up remittance via Xoom in dollars and Moneygram in pesos over the counter at BDO and Metrobank, I don’t pay any charge.

Hi Gigi, if you were an employed SSS member before in the Philippines, you can continue paying without doing any paperwork. You just continue to pay. You can pay online through luckymoney.com or pnbwebremit.com. About beneficiary change: Download this SSS Member Data Change Request Form, fill up, then scan and email it to ofw.relations@sss.gov.ph together with a scan of 2 valid photo IDs/passport. You’re not ofw, but this email address gives priority to overseas Filipinos.

I’m a planholder of Danvil, maturity sep. 2016. The problem is I’m here abroad working. The only document I have here is the full payment given by their office in alabang and 2 valid I.Ds. The others I have them in my safety box. Can I send just this to catch the deadline on July 30 2015
